This work combines points, lines and surfaces in a free style. The contrast and mixture of lacquer and bamboo has formed a material tension between different textures. The entire shape is structured like a stone, bringing a rich visual feeling.
The work creatively combines the exquisite bamboo weaving techniques and the elegant lacquer skills. The overall structure was realised through hexagonal bamboo weaving method, which forms a naturally twisted shape. Then, some parts of the piece were mounted by linen cloth, and painted with lacquer. The spatial structure is orderly and psychedelic. The intertwined bamboo weaving and lacquer contains deep oriental aesthetics.
